Andrew Maguire is Executive Director of the GAVI Fund Campaign for Child Immunization. The GAVI Alliance is a global public-private partnership whose goal is to ensure that every child, everywhere is safely immunized against life-threatening diseases. In its first five years GAVI programs have reached 150 million children in the world’s 75 poorest countries, saving an estimated 2.3 million lives.

After receiving a Ph.D. from Harvard University, Dr. Maguire was appointed by the Department of State as Advisor on Political and Security Affairs with the U.S. Mission to the United Nations. He served as a member of U.S. Delegations to the U.N. General Assembly and the Security Council, specializing in Middle East, U.S.-Soviet, and Africa policy.

Andrew Maguire was elected to the U.S. House of Representatives from New Jersey and served three terms in Congress. He took leadership roles on health, economic, energy, environment, and foreign policy legislation, on issues relating to children and youth, and on ethics and congressional reform.
